Cancellation & Refund Policy

Effective Date: July 13, 2025

We understand that travel plans can change, and we aim to be as fair and transparent as possible while balancing the commitments we make on your behalf to lodges, camps, and ground operators across Africa.

61 Days or More Before Arrival: 20% Non-Refundable Deposit

If you cancel your booking 61 days or more prior to arrival, 20% of the total trip cost will be retained as a non-refundable deposit. This applies regardless of the deposit amount already paid.

Please note: Some partner lodges or properties may enforce stricter cancellation policies. In such cases, their terms will apply and will be communicated to you during the booking process.

60 Days or Less Before Arrival: 100% Cancellation Fee

If a cancellation is made 60 days or fewer before your scheduled trip, no refund will be issued, and 100% of the booking cost will be forfeited.

This is because we will have already committed funds to secure accommodations, guides, permits, and other services that cannot be recovered.

Peak Season & Property-Specific Rules

Travel during peak seasons (e.g., December 5 to January 10) may be subject to stricter cancellation terms, including non-refundable full payments regardless of cancellation timing.

Additionally, some lodges require full prepayment 60+ days in advance with no refunds allowed after that point. If this applies to your itinerary, we will inform you clearly at the time of booking.

Non-Refundable Fees

Certain components of your trip are non-refundable at all times, including but not limited to:

  • Park and conservation fees

  • Gorilla or chimpanzee trekking permits

  • Certain internal flights or transfers

  • Seasonal surcharges during high-demand periods

Travel Insurance Strongly Advised

We highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that includes coverage for:

  • Trip cancellation or interruption

  • Medical emergencies and evacuation

  • Lost baggage or personal items

Insurance helps protect your investment in case of unforeseen events.
